URB Spotlight: Six of New York City’s Best Studio Engineers features Stadiumred’s Ariel Borujow. This week’s article talks about Engineers today in the world of home grown music. Ariel talks about his experience and life working within the “family” environment at Manhattan’s Stadiumred 5-Studio facility.
Stadiumred Recording Artist, Jeremy Carr collaborates with Maison & Dragen to release “Never Gonna Stop” on Zouk/Armada. Jeremy Carr vocals recorded in the A-Room at Stadiumred Studios in New York City. In its first week of release, the record is out exclusively on the largest music store for DJs in the world, Beatport, where it spent the better part of the week on The Beatport Progressive House Top-100 Chart. On Monday April 29th the record will be released around the world available on all major music sites. This is a first-time collaboration between USA-based Jeremy Carr and Finnish DJ/Producers, Maison & Dragen.

The StadiumredMUSIC Team heads down to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on March 12th with artists Chuckie, Mysto & Pizzi, Chachi, Modern Machines, Mitchell Niemeyer, R3HAB, Delivio Reavon & Aaron Gill for the Bounce Music Festival. The spring break event goes for 17 days conducted by huge names in progressive house.Check out Chachi’s official Stadiumred artist showcase mix and his very own promotional mix for the Winter Music Conference (WMC), Bounce Music Festival, and his Asia tour. The mix includes the likes of Mysto & Pizzi, Jeremy Carr, Chachi, & Modern Machines. Chachi closes out the mix with “Higher” since Just Blaze & Baauer produced the record in Stadiumred’s studio B (The B-Room).
Higher – produced by Just Blaze & Brooklyn based Baauer (Harlem Shake) in Stadiumred’s B-Room. The record with Jay-Z sample was Mastered by Ricardo Gutierrez, “The track will obliterate your brain and convince you that it’s already the weekend” says Tom Breihan (Stereogum). Blaze says, “I just like music. I’m not one for genres and sub-genres, if it sounds good and people can move and rock out to it and have a good time, that’s all that really matters.”
DON’T FORGET MY BREAKFAST mixed by Stadiumred Chief Engineer, Ariel Borujow is the solo project by Manu Masko. The French Drummer has been recording and performing with the Breton Rock Band, “RED CARDELL” for the last 12 years (13 albums including “Falling In Love”, “Soleil Blanc”, “La Fete au Village” over 1500 concerts throughout Europe and North America).
Manu decided to create this project as a Birthday present for his own 40th Birthday.The project is a ‘hommage’ to New York City as seen through the eyes of a ‘Frenchie’. He created a bridge between the Cotton Club sound and the dance floor of his generation.
Masko had one focus: record the project in France with friends and then fly to Stadiumred in New York City to Mix his project. Specifically working with Ariel Borujow (mixing) looking for his expertise and the resulting sound of serious KICK and BASS with VOCALS right in the middle packed with energy.
The Stadiumred Team adds Tyler McDiarmid as its newest member. Tyler has had the pleasure of recording and mixing many of the biggest names in jazz and acoustic music at studios like Sear Sound, Systems Two & Bennett. He has worked with John Scofield, Chris Potter, Dave Douglas, Lee Konitz, Jim Hall, Fred Hersch, Nicholas Payton, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Lionel Loueke just to name a few. Recently, Tyler’s talent has been recognized by the Recording Academy with four Grammy nominations over the last three years for his work with Gregory Porter, Fred Hersch and Chano Dominguez.
Tyler’s dedication to his field of work can also be seen through his continuous intellectual pursuits. He is currently completing a Ph.D in Jazz Studies from New York University where he is also a member of the adjunct faculty.
New York-based music producer, composer and DJ “Frequency” (Bryan Fryzel) joined the Stadiumred Team. Working across genres in Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop and EDM, Frequency produced records for Snoop Dogg, Ghostface Killah, John Legend, Ja Rule, Lil’ Kim, Keyshia Cole.
One of his first projects since coming to Stadiumred, Frequency co-produced “All We Have” on Lace Up, the debut album for MGK (or Machine Gun Kelly, is a Cleveland rapper born Richard Colson Baker) released on BadBoy/Interscope Records. The album was released October 9th and sold 51,000 units in its first week while landing the #4 spot on Billboard.
Stadiumred Chief Mixing Engineer Ariel Borujow talks about mixing for EMI recording artist Chiddy Bang on their debut album, ”Breakfast.” He details how he uses Universal Audio plug ins and his approach on mixing their second single titled “Mind Your Manners” by detailing his techniques with bass and drums, acoustic and electric guitars as well as vocals.
